This is a martial arts fitness class; physical conditioning using basic martial arts movements in a rhythmic manner. There are no uniforms and no belt ranks; it is a fun informal setting. Set to music just like your typical aerobics class, it gets you in great shape while developing some fundamental self-defense skills. Note that this is NOT the same as studying a martial art. If you want a martial art particularly oriented towards self-defense, take Hapkido. If you want a martial art particularly oriented towards kicking/punching or want to compete, take Taekwondo. This class is for people who want to get in shape while learning movements more generally useful then dance or climbing stairs.
Benefits:

In the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex and across the country, everybody and their brother is teaching some form of aerobic kickboxing. Some have little to no training in martial arts. Some with lots of martial arts training have not had the proper training for safety issues, especially with people not used to working out. Master Beck has been certified previously by NAPMA (the National Association of Professional Martial Artists) to teach the Cardio Karate format of aerobic kickboxing. This format starts off with a solid warmup, does at least 20 minutes of constant cardiovascular work, and finishes with anaerobic strength building calisthenics.
See the Training page for current schedules and rates.
